The French Guys Bakery

"Nice little spot for classic pastries. I really Enjoyed the kouign aman. It was big and sweet/crunchy/soft at all the right moments. I didn’t love the cannele but maybe I just don’t like the spongey texture of cannele in general? Would come back for the kouign aman and to try their different croissants"

"Wow...The French Guys Bakery was an amazing find at the edge of Capitol Hill. Stopping here was just a serendipitous wild hair.....I plucked it and what a find!!! This small patisserie/bakery is located across the street from the former Harvard theater. The seating is tight, cozy with mellow but bustling vibes. Service was friendly and efficient. The latte was delicious, no bitter afterbite. The pastry choices were right on.....an almond pear tart ( heated)●●●● and the absolute top - of -chart passionfruit coconut mango creation. Food love ❤️ 😍 personified!!●●●● Holy mother of mango.....yowzah! Prices were reasonable for value delivered. Not cheap.....but totally worth it! Handicap ♿️ doable but be aware of the tight spaces. Small upstairs with tables and a few outside seating situations as well. Final take.....French Guys Bakery is highly recommended... Tres Bien!!!!"

"This bakery has such a warm, cozy vibe. The moment you walk in, the smell of fresh bread and coffee hits you, and it instantly sets the mood. They offer a great variety of pastries and baked goods, so there’s plenty to choose from. The highlight for us was the flan—absolutely amazing. The aroma and texture were spot on, smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The canelé was also really good, nicely baked with that classic flavor and structure. We were a bit disappointed with the cappuccino, though. The espresso tasted over-extracted and slightly burnt, which took away from the drink. Overall, still a pretty good experience, especially for the pastries and atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area."
